With the turn of the year 2014 to 2015 ASTECH GmbH expands its non-contact sensors of velocity and length (VLM) by a Profinet interface.
As with the laser distance measurement gauges also this widely used sensor system can now easily be integrated in modern PLC systems. For that the sensors use the proven M12 connector with protection grade IP67.
The Profinet interface provides additionally to the measured values of speed and length, the signal quality, a time stamp, life counter and diagnostic data. Due to the real-time capabilities of the Ethernet based Profinet protocol the measured distance values are transmitted to the network controller without any delay or data loss.
