Description:
Two laser distance sensors of the type LDS30A are used on a special measuring and inspection train. They are mounted onto the roof of the train and aligned vertically upwards. It is their task to measure the distance between the train and potential obstacles above it. This is done on inspection tours of the measuring train at velocities of up to 100km/h. The extremely high sampling rate of up to 30 kHz, which the LDS30A provides, ensures that the evaluation unit receives a distance value every 3 mm on the track.
