The non-contact measurement of speed and length device VLM has been an integral part of the ASTECH product portfolio for the last decades. The success of the sensor is mainly due to its steady development and expansion.
The new VLM500E allows measurements at an increased distance of 330 mm with a working range of 60 mm. Thus, the proven and reliable product can be used even more efficient in demanding applications in the steel and aluminum industries, as well as in hot areas. All other features of the VLM series can be found in the VLM500E as well. With this new development, ASTECH meets the special needs and demands of the market. In this regard, the close and deep customer relationship played an important role. As a result of this, ASTECH was able to identify the desire for an extended working distance premature. Whereby, a fast realization was achieved and ASTECH is now even more able to provide high quality products and customer support.
Furthermore ASTECH announces that two members of the VLM500 series (VLM500A and VLM500L) have been optimized regarding their working range which is now 20 mm.
For the third time, the ASTECH team took successfully part in the Rostock business run. In the run’s seventh edition, each member of the ASTECH team mastered the 3.5 km long running track at the port of Rostock. In bright sunshine, more than three hundred teams made their circuit.
The team event was once again a great opportunity for joint sports activities and casual networking.

The brand new CROMLAVIEW® CR500 features a new patented compensation algorithm for variable working distances. With this method – called CROMLADIST® - the sensor provides precise and reliable recognition results, even if the working distance changes within the process.
In addition there is the well-known CROMLASTAB® function for drift compensation, which grants long term interruption-free operation without any maintenance.

The Prime Minister of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is going to visit the ASTECH GmbH on July 24, 2015; during his 2-week summer tour. Under the economic topic "Export in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania" our company will present its innovative products, as well as its national and international delivery locations.
The company portfolio includes sensors for the detection of velocity, length, distance, position, width as well as colour. The products are sold worldwide.

For the second time the ASTECH GmbH participated successfully on the Business Run in Rostock. The event was attended by more than 200 teams, who took a 4x3.5 km run along the city harbour. Our employees were able to achieve the 45th place and thus improved their performance compared to last year.
Our staff enjoyed the run a lot and is looking forward to the 7th Business Run next year!
The company ASTECH as a specialist for industrial opto-electronic sensors is exhibiting at the Hannover Messe since 23 years now. We will also do it in 2015!
We have used the last year intensively to refine our sensors. One of the outstanding improvements is the velocity and length sensor VLM500. Another is the new product line CR500 of the color sensors. Furthermore all product lines have a profinet interface now.

With the turn of the year 2014 to 2015 ASTECH GmbH expands its non-contact sensors of velocity and length (VLM) by a Profinet interface.
As with the laser distance measurement gauges also this widely used sensor system can now easily be integrated in modern PLC systems. For that the sensors use the proven M12 connector with protection grade IP67.
With the LMD41PN and the LDM42PN Astech GmbH expands its Laser distance measurement product line by two new gauges with Profinet interface. With this the widely used sensor system can now easily be integrated in modern PLC systems. For that the sensors use the proven M12 connector format with protection grade IP67.
Additionally to the measured distance value the LDM41PN and LDM42PN provide a time stamp, life counter and diagnose data via the Profinet interface.
